Silver Fern

One of Nigel’s friends has just become a NZ citizen, so Nige asked me to make her a card to celebrate this – with a request to have ‘a taste of Kiwi’!

Well, I pondered…… and then came up with this.

I used the Organic Grace stamp set (Level 1 Hostess Gift – easy to attain when you host a workshop), and the Old Olive, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla cardstocks, the Old Olive ink, and to make the silver fern I used VersaMark with silver embossing powder. I’ve fallen in love with heat embossing, and I thought this silver fern (repeated on the inside of the card) achieved the requisite ‘Kiwiana’!

What a great idea Bron. They will be absolutely chuffed with this wonderful card made especially from them!! Embossing the “silver” fern is a stroke of genius!

Thank you, ladies! It’s almost a case of ‘if it doesn’t move, emboss it’ here at the moment!! 🙂
