Paper Piecing for a Baby Girl

One of the great things about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is the excellent business network and support we have. Each month we are sent a demonstrator-only publication called Impressions, which highlights different products and techniques, and in the April edition there is an article on paper piecing. I really like it, and have been planning on giving it a try.

So, on Saturday when we heard the news that my brother-in-law and his wife had another baby girl safely arrive, I knew exactly what I wanted to do for the wee girl’s card:

I’ve used the boat from the ‘Nursery Necessities’ stamp set and pieced it with paper from the ‘Candy Lane’ paper series; these pieces are popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals, to give the image some lift. It is teamed up with the co-ordinating Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette and Close to Cocoa cardstock. And the wide Pink Pirouette ribbon is from the Summer Mini Catalogue – which retires in just two days,  so if you want some, let me know!

Love it – feminine but not sickeningly cutesy.
