Big Birthday

15/06/2010

For our family, birthdays are a reasonably big deal for the little kids, but not so much for the adults.

But 70 is a reasonably big birthday, don’t you think? My fabulous father-in-law celebrates his birthday on Friday this week, and I wanted to make a card that suited the occasion.

This card was made using three stampsets – Wonderful Favourites, Pocket Silhouettes, and one of the Sale-A-Bration sets, Vintage Labels. I used Haiku paper (last chance today to get some for $11.97 + shipping), the Little Leaves die with the Big Shot, and some Old Olive 5/8″ grosgrain ribbon.

I love that I can sit down and make a card for someone’s special day, and there is not another one in the world the same. Who’d pay $6.50 for a piece of mass-produced rubbish at the supermarket, when they could make their own little masterpiece at home, for a fraction of the price? And what better way to get started than with a Stampin’ Up! Starter Kit? If you’re interested in top quality crafting materials, and would like to supplement your family income, or just get the demonstrator discount, contact me to find out more. Because from now until 31 July, you will save $80 off the Starter Kit price – normally $379, now just $299.
