Tips for Inspiration

05/07/2010

One of the coolest things about a Stampin’ Up! Idea Book and Catalogue (besides the fact that it’s chock full of great products!) is that there are so many samples made with all the products – it’s a fabulous source of creative ideas.

Whenever I need some inspiration, I start with the Idea Book and Catalogue (IB & C), or the current mini catalogue. Here is a card I made last week, inspired by a notecard on page 72 of the IB & C.

I used Old Olive for the base, and then added the rest from the picture in the book. The stamps used are from Pocket Silhouettes (the first stamp set I ever bought), and Teeny Tiny Sentiments.  I changed the DSP from Kiwi Kiss to Old Olive, purely because I felt there needed to be more contrast between the So Saffron cardstock and the DSP.

Quick and easy, and entirely appropriate as a masculine card. Happy stamping!

That is so effective and I would never have thought of putting those colours together but they really work well. Gorgeous.

You are so right about the IB & C Bron. A great place to start for ideas. Love your take on this creation. TFS
