Proud Mummy Moment…

06/11/2010

I know this isn’t anything to do with crafting (despite spending all afternoon at our Christmas Extravaganza! FUN!) No – this is just to share what we did this morning, before Extravaganza!

Our eldest son, James (5 1/2) has started playing cricket this season. Today was the second game, and he was chosen to be captain of his team. He lost the toss, and the team was put in to bowl first. James got a wicket….

Then when they went in to bat, he and his partner hit several boundaries – I was so excited!

I’m not sure who was more pleased when he was named Player of the Day afterwards, him or his Dad and me! I think his little brother was pretty proud too – what do you think?

Thanks for humouring me! Next time I’ll be back with some craft – I promise!

Well done James (or should I say well played!). Think James’ Mum should have got a certificate for the Proudest Mum of the Day! BTW it was a lovely afternoon with some great projects.

Awwwww Bron, I can just imagine how proud you would have been – and deservedly so! Who does James get his cricket prowess from?

Thanks guys. He gets his cricket abilities from his Dad, Debbie – he even plays for the same club his father played for! James was dragging a cricket bat around the house before he could walk…

James was obviously born to be a cricket star. Watch this space for a future black cap!!

Good job James. And what a good Mum you are Bron – getting up and out to do this before the Extravaganza!

James will be playing for NZ before you know it! Potential star!!! I can so relate to the proud mum moment! I have shared several on my blog. Sandy had a few years playing cricket, too … and was a fab batsman & was the wicket keeper. But … sadly … his soccer training etc got too much (yes … he plays 1st division … and trains during summer) … and as this is his 1st love … something had to give! So … no more cricket! 😦 But … I know the thrill of seeing a son do well … especially when they are new to the game! Congrats, mum! Hugs xxaxx
