A Night with The Breakers

03/03/2011

We have just got home from the most fabulous evening – a night at the basketball, with our team the Burger King New Zealand Breakers playing the Townsville Crocs. What a game! But the whole event was spectacular.

Kirk Penney, our hero and the Breakers’ guard, had given us box seat tickets, which included dinner and refreshments court-side throughout the evening. The whole family was invited – the little boys were so excited! It was Kirk’s 100th game for the NZ Breakers – a big occasion.

Dinner was delicious, and there was a great curtain raiser game with young Breakers of the future playing. Then, the main event – and the whole atmosphere stepped up. Here’s a clip of the Breakers warming up before play began:

Here’s the final scoreboard (WE WON! But boy, it was close!):

And here’s our family with Kirk after the game. Two very tired little boys, a very elated family!

Thank you Kirk and Audra, for a fabulous evening – a great night of family entertainment. This is definitely worth a scrapbook page or two! 🙂
