A Trendy Tree in the Funky Forest
Last night my friend and neighbour Janelle came over to play (well, in her case, to drool over the Stampin’ Up! 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue that comes out in two weeks!) – but I was working on something to demonstrate at a workshop this week. I also wanted to use one of Stampin’ Up!s wheel stamps, as there is a special challenge this week over on Just Add Ink. In raising funds for Hudson, they’ve called this challenge ‘Just Add…. Wheels’.
For some reason I grabbed the ‘Trendy Trees’ stampset, and the ‘Funky Forest’ wheel, added a bit of Chocolate Chip and Old Olive ink, and came up with this…..
I used a Kraft (‘Crumb Cake’) base, and Pumpkin Pie cardstock, and stamped on Whisper White (love that stuff!). There’s also a piece of Pumpkin Pie ribbon there, secured with a Vintage brad.
This card is growing on me – great masculine project, don’t you think?
I like it: I’ve been working on “masculine” cards this month and this is very nice. Something so appealing about those funky trees. Sigh… another set for my wish list.
Bron, I love this! I’ve had Trendy Trees, and the Funky Forest wheel, out, trying to come up with something I’m happy with, but have been having a bit of creative block. You’ve inspired me -thank you! Great card 🙂
awesome Bron – I just made a card using ‘crumb cake’ too!! lol
It will always be Kraft to me… lol
I love how you’ve attached the ribbon. And yep, it’s a great masculine card!
Great job. Did they have to call it crumb cake? References to food are often tempting…
Great card, I love using Kraft, oops Crumb Cake too!
Oh I love the ‘Funky Forest’. Great choice of colours!
Perfectly perfect! Great job Bron!
Love the crisp, clean lines of this card Bron. Great choice of “wheel” too!
Lovely card Bron and would be perfect for a workshop card to aye? Love the scallop square window
